Why Holly?

Most of the Maggie's Memories Rolled Cotton People pieces will have Maggie's trademark holly leaf signature: a sprig or two of holly.

According to tradition, holly's deep evergreen color and bright red berries represent new life amidst the drab and frozen days of winter.

For the Christian, the holly leaf represents the promise of new life and eternal life because the holly leaf is ever green. The holly tree's red berries represent the blood of Jesus was shed to give us new life here on earth and eternal life with God in heaven. The holly leaf on many of the Maggie's Memories pieces reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.
